David Stillman

As Senior Asset Manager with NAI Excel, David Stillman specializes in the oversight and strategic management of commercial real estate investments throughout Utah and Nevada. With nearly 20 years of commercial real estate experience, he works primarily with property owners and investors to protect asset value, improve property performance, and position investments for long-term success.

David currently oversees more than $150 million in commercial real estate assets, with a concentration in industrial and retail investment properties. His portfolio includes Rio Plaza, a multi-tenant retail center in the heart of St. George, Utah, as well as a significant portfolio of industrial properties in South Salt Lake City, Utah.

His approach to asset management combines detailed financial oversight with hands-on property operations and long-term investment strategy. Clients rely on him for budgeting, operating expense analysis, CAM reconciliations, capital expenditure planning, tenant and vendor relationships, and strategic decision-making at the property and portfolio level. He brings an owner-minded perspective to each assignment, carefully evaluating both the immediate operational needs of an asset and the decisions that can strengthen its long-term value.

Known for being analytical, responsive, and detail-oriented, David also brings an entrepreneurial and creative approach to solving complex property challenges. He is comfortable challenging conventional thinking, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing practical strategies tailored to the objectives of each ownership group.

Prior to joining NAI Excel, David spent more than 15 years managing a privately held commercial real estate portfolio while also establishing and operating several businesses that remain active today. His responsibilities included property-level financial analysis, annual budgeting, CAM reconciliations, capital expenditure planning, tenant relations, vendor management, and the ongoing evaluation of investment performance.

In addition to his work with NAI Excel, David owns and operates a private commercial real estate investment firm. His experience as both an asset manager and an investor provides him with a practical understanding of ownership decisions, capital allocation, operating performance, and the importance of balancing short-term property needs with long-term investment objectives.

His professional background also extends well beyond commercial real estate. An accomplished musician and producer, David has worked on music-related projects internationally, including in London, Spain, Hungary, South Korea, China, and Hollywood. That experience, combined with advanced education in both business and music, has shaped a distinctive approach to asset management that blends rigorous financial analysis with creative problem-solving.
