NAI families enjoyed an action packed weekend at the Lucky 7 Ranch company retreat. Set at the base of Bryce Canyon’s pink cliffs, young and old enjoyed horseback riding, ziplining, rope swinging, kayaking, ATV’s, and Bison tours.
The Sauter kids zipped across the ranch on ATV’s decked out like professional motocross while parents Pat and Ginny relaxed with others enjoying a little front porch living. As Bison burgers and Dutch oven potatoes cooked in the background, the kids wore themselves out racing through the bounce house and lighting up targets at the BB Gun range. Even Curren Christensen’s CrossFit training couldn’t prepare him for the workout required to chase his 3 year old Ellie through the bounce house.
Brandon Vandermyde rode 9.7 seconds on a mechanical bull named Buck Wild securing a few $20’s for his performance. Adam Corley’s family raced an antelope buck on a six seater ATV after touring the bison herd down by the river. Art Carll-Tangora, Matt Jenkins, Leslie Houston, and others enjoyed a scenic ATV drive to the top of Proctor Canyon.
The next day, Eric Larkin and Erik Sexton held on for their lives ziplining from the top of the hillside landing in the pond while Mike Kenny dropped from the rope swing like a can opener into the water. Tim Stroshine was given a mare with an attitude to ride who reared back like a black stallion before kicking a nearby horse. Tim managed the ride like a real cowboy.
Everyone enjoyed a little slower pace for a weekend with many staying an extra day to hike Bryce Canyon National Park. We send a big thanks to Mark and Val Walter for sharing such a beautiful place with us and for their hospitality.
