Weston Martinez

Weston Martinez is a fifth-generation Texan and commercial real estate professional who helps businesses close complex transactions and navigate the regulatory environment that surrounds them. As former Texas Real Estate Commissioner, appointed by Governor Rick Perry and reappointed by Governor Greg Abbott, he served nearly seven years as a regulatory and enforcement leader and Budget Chairman.

In that role, he helped oversee licensing and consumer protection across Texas — more than 261,000 square miles of land and one of the largest real estate markets in the country, with hundreds of thousands of transactions each year and well over 200,000 licensed professionals. That experience gives him a practical understanding of how deals actually get done: title, land use, utilities, agency process, and the business realities behind the paperwork.

Weston works at the intersection of commercial real estate and regulated industry. He has served as the forward-facing point of contact with major utility and environmental bodies, including the Public Utility Commission (PUC), FCC, ERCOT, NERC, and TCEQ, and has worked with large utilities such as CPS Energy, publicly traded corporations, and municipal authorities at the city, county, and state levels. He is also recognized as one of the few practitioners in Texas with deep water-policy fluency — a frequent gatekeeper issue for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

His operating background includes telecom infrastructure leadership at AT&T/Southwestern Bell. He maintains an active mediation and arbitration practice, resolving disputes efficiently and keeping deals on track. For four years he also engaged visiting secretaries and more than 150 ambassadors, parliament members, and heads of state during official State Department visits, giving him a working view of how global capital and policy meet U.S. markets.

Weston’s focus is straightforward: take complicated commercial real estate matters — land, utilities, water, permitting, agency review, and stakeholder alignment — and move them to close. He works with families, business leaders, and institutional clients to protect long-term value and get transactions completed.
